The Casella team required our industrial design expertise to develop a new personal air sampling pump which measured the wearer’s exposure to dust and fumes. The design needed to be rugged, compact, easy to operate, IP54 rated, with a removable battery pack.
We designed and developed a simple product based around injection moulded parts with rubber over-moulding. The over-moulding process provided a tough rugged finish, allowed for fully sealed controls integrated into the rubber over-mould and provided environmental sealing between the major caseworks parts.
